JSON export

Calero supports exporting your data as JSON for backup, migration, or compliance. Depending on version, exports can include related structures such as contact circles so restores round-trip cleanly. Keep exports in storage you control.

Current exports also include user customization metadata, including:

  • Record schema configuration (custom fields, ordering, required flags, quick-add visibility).
  • Quick add behavior preferences.
  • Reminder lead-time and channel preferences.
  • Dashboard recency mode and recently viewed data.

Markdown and other formats

Depending on app version, you may export notes as Markdown, generate report Markdown from the Reports screen (Mac), or use other export paths surfaced in Settings and toolbars.

vCard import

You can import vCard (.vcf) files to create people when the email is not already stored—useful when consolidating from Contacts or mail signatures.

iCloud (CloudKit) sync

CloudKit sync keeps your Calero library aligned across iPhone, iPad, and Mac when you are signed into iCloud with the same Apple ID. Data is handled through Apple’s infrastructure, not a Calero-hosted CRM cloud. The local-first model still applies: you always have on-device storage, and JSON export remains the comprehensive backup format you can archive anywhere.

Practice

  • Export JSON before major OS upgrades or experiments.
  • Store backups encrypted if they contain sensitive relationship context.
  • If you rely on customized schemas, verify record schema settings after import as part of acceptance checks.
